Sebaceous Cyst Removal

A procedure requiring complete surgical excision, including the cyst wall. Since simple incision and drainage often lead to recurrence, the entire cyst is extracted after a minimal incision with a CO2 laser.

Indications

Sebaceous cysts (epidermal cysts)lipomas. Lesions in a state where inflammation has subsided.

Contraindications

  • Cysts in the acute inflammatory phase (procedure recommended after inflammation subsides — risk of scarring/recurrence if forcibly removed)
  • blood coagulation disorders
  • diabetes (delayed wound healing).
